Is this position employed or self-employed?

This is a self-employed position. As a self-employed contractor, you are responsible for managing your own tax and work status.
Because this role is self-employed, we are not able to offer sponsorship or visas of any kind. You must already have the legal right to work in the UK to apply.

Can I work part-time?

Yes, part-time work is available for this role. However, please note that we cannot provide hired vans for part-time drivers. If you wish to work fewer than four days per week, you will need to use your own van.
For drivers working full-time, both van hire and owner-van options are available. If you’re unsure which arrangement suits you best, our team is happy to advise.

How old do I have to be?

The age requirement depends on whether you are using your own vehicle or hiring one of ours.
Using Your Own Van:
If you are driving your own van, you can start as soon as you hold a valid driving licence and are able to insure yourself on the vehicle. There is no additional age restriction beyond meeting standard insurance and licensing requirements.
Hiring a Van From Us:
For drivers using one of our hired vans, you must be 21 years of age or older to meet insurance criteria. If you’re unsure which category you fall into or need guidance on insurance requirements, our team is happy to assist.

Does it matter if I have points on my licence?

This depends on whether you are a van owner or hiring one of our vehicles.

Van Owners:
For drivers using their own van, the maximum number of points allowed is 9. Standard speeding points are generally acceptable, but certain offence codes — particularly those involving serious driving violations — cannot be approved. These will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Hired Vans:
If you are applying to drive one of our hired vans, we can accept a maximum of 6 points on your licence. However, the type of offence is just as important as the number of points. Some offence codes are not eligible under our insurance policy, even if you have fewer than 6 points.
If you’re unsure whether your licence is acceptable, our team can review your details confidentially and advise you accordingly.

What type of van do you use?

The type of van required depends on whether you are using your own vehicle or hiring one from us.

Van Owners:
If you are providing your own van, it must have a minimum load capacity of 5 cubic metres. The vehicle must be roadworthy, fully insured, taxed, and have a valid MOT. A mid-sized van such as a Ford Transit or a similar model is typically ideal for the demands of multi-drop delivery work.

Hired Vans:
For drivers hiring a van through us, the same capacity requirements apply, but we take care of all documentation, insurance, and ongoing maintenance. Our fleet consists exclusively of Vauxhall Vivaro vans, with the oldest vehicles generally no more than two years old, ensuring you have access to reliable, modern, and well-maintained vans.

If you have questions about van suitability or the hire option, our team is happy to offer guidance.

Where will I be delivering?

We operate across multiple sites throughout the UK, with each depot covering its own designated service area. Delivery routes typically fall within a 25-mile radius of the depot, although this does not mean you’ll be responsible for the entire radius. Each depot is divided into specific delivery zones, and every driver is assigned a set location within that zone. This ensures consistency, familiarity, and efficient route planning.
Your daily route will remain within the allocated area assigned to you, allowing you to become comfortable with the roads, customers, and delivery patterns associated with your specific location.
We currently operate in the following UK cities:

• Bristol

• Swansea

Cardiff

• Swindon

• Reading

• Banbury

• Exeter

• Portsmouth

• Gloucester

Can I choose my working days?

You can choose your working days up to five weeks in advance using our online platform, which also allows you to view and manage your invoices.

Drivers may work up to six consecutive days; however, six-day schedules are not always available. If you are using a company vehicle, we recommend working at least four days per week, as van rental charges are applied on a weekly basis.

How many drops is a driver expected to deliver per day?

The number of drops can vary depending on the delivery area you are assigned to. In more densely populated areas, this can be up to 150 drops per day. Routes covering wider or more rural areas, including villages, typically involve between 100 and 120 drops per day.

On average, a driver can normally complete between 15 and 20 drops per hour.

Do I need to pay for fuel myself?

Most of the contractors we work with provide a fuel reimbursement payment in addition to the daily pay rate. This payment is intended to help cover the cost of fuel used while carrying out deliveries. The reimbursement rate is based on current market fuel prices and may therefore vary. As a result, the exact amount reimbursed can change over time, depending on fluctuations in fuel costs.
